Disassembling Toshiba Satellite PSAH0U laptops
Bottom side
Pictures are in this folder
- Flip the laptop upside down
- Remove the battery and the 3 panels that are held by a screw each
- Remove 17 screws labeled B6
- Remove the 3 screws labeled F3 in the battery compartment
- Do not remove any other screws or components
Top side

- Flip the laptop right side up
- Pry up the plastic strip at the rear of the keyboard, along the function keys
- Remove the 2 screws that hold down the keyboard
- Disconnect the keyboard
- Remove the screw in the center of the opening left after removing the keyboard
- Disconnect the flex circuit that goes to the touch switches, at the rear
- Disconnect the flex circuit that goes to the track pad, at the front
- Disconnect the white connector with 4-color wires, to the rear-left
Removing the palm-rest case half

- Using a guitar pick, inserted in the groove all around the edge, separate the bottom and palm-rest case halves
- Remove the palm rest case half
Repairing the button
Pictures are in this folder
- Remove the black tape on the PCB
- Disconnect the 2 flex circuits from the PCB
- Remove the 3 screws holding down the PCB
- The plastic button includes thin extensions used as springs, welded to the plastic of the palm-rest case half
- If they are unwelded, glue them back in, or use a soldering iron to melt them in place
